Jess Fox posts World Cup milestone with back-to-back golds ahead of Paris Olympics campaign

Australia’s Jess Fox has won her second gold medal at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup event in Kraków, Poland.

Twenty-four hours after winning the women’s K1, Fox claimed victory in the C1 final, despite recording a two-second penalty.

Fox has now won 50 World Cup gold medals.

It is also the ninth time Fox has collected gold in both the K1 and C1 at the same World Cup event.

Fox finished ahead of Brazil’s Ana Satila and Czech Martina Satkova to win the C1 final.

“Winning the double at a World Cup is always really special and to realise I’ve done it nine times now is amazing,” Fox said after her triumph.

“I think I’ll have to really try and get a 10th to make it sound even better.

“I’m really pleased that this is my 50th gold too. It’s been a fantastic start to the season and we’ll continue building now for Paris 2024.”

Fox will be competing at her fourth Olympics in Paris.

She is a four-time Olympic medallist, her tally highlighted by winning gold in the women’s C1 slalom at the Tokyo Games.

The Paris canoe slalom program kicks off on July 27.
